Kelly Bodu Tarrant, BA
Kelly is completing her last year of the Master of Arts in Counseling at St. Edward's University pursuing a dual concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Counseling. She is a native Austin-ite and a graduate from The University of Texas at Austin where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Spanish, and Communication Sciences and Disorders. For over 10 years, Kelly has provided developmental and speech therapy to infants and children with disabilities within the Austin area. Her educational and professional background coupled with her personal background allows Kelly to embrace individual differences, instill hope, and generate resiliency through life's stressful moments.
Kelly approaches counseling through a family systems lens. She believes that relationships, whether relationships with our individual selves, significant others, friends, or family members, helped shape who we are today. Since it is through relationships that change occurs, Kelly seeks to create a caring and authentic relationship with each client. Kelly strives to establish a warm, hope-filled, and non-judgmental environment in which she invites clients to explore their beliefs, emotions, and to embrace their authentic self.
Kelly works with individuals from all types of backgrounds. She has a passion for connecting with individuals, couples and families who are experiencing challenges regarding life transitions, parenting skills, stress management, depression, anxiety, and family conflict. Kelly is fluent in English and Spanish.
