Katey Villalon, M.A.
Katey is completing her last year in the Master of Arts in Counseling program at St. Edward's University, with a dual concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Counseling. Transitioning from her former career as an executive in business development, Katey brings a unique perspective to therapy, after many years leading multi-cultural teams in a highly stressful, competitive environment.
Everyone is unique, and most people struggle with communication, change, creating purpose, finding meaning, and developing a healthy work/life balance. If you feel resentful, sad, angry or powerless, and you wish that things were different, then engaging in therapy can help you to gain personal insight, and to move beyond those challenging dynamics.
Katey uses a conversational, systemic, and existential approach in counseling. Her collaborative style helps individuals, couples and families to explore and define their goals, while managing difficulties, including relational conflict, career change, illness, ageing, loss and grief. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that deep emotional connection, and lasting change is possible for everyone.
