Women’s Process Group

Tuesdays, 6:30pm-8:00pm

FaciliTated by Paola Ortiz, MA, LMFT Associate

As you scroll through social media, do you catch yourself worrying about how and why everyone else seems to have their life together while you’re relating to all the memes about feeling lost? Do you ever feel shame and guilt creep in as Netflix asks you “Are you still watching?” Do you worry about getting to that fitness class you keep hearing about and feeling out of place because you think you aren't wearing the “right” clothes, don’t have the “perfect” body, or just because you’re you?

Unfortunately, you’re not the only one having these thoughts. We live in a world where people are validated by their productivity and “likes”, and as women, sometimes it seems that’s accentuated by our society, cultural, and familial expectations. We’ve adapted and accepted critical self-talk and continue to alienate ourselves because we’re scared to tell each other we’re having a difficult time and need help.

Maybe you’ve reached a point where you’re ready to be authentic and vulnerable by sharing your story in a safe space where you’ll be seen and validated. Our women’s process group is for six adult women-identifying individuals who are struggling with anxiety, self-compassion, and belonging. Our group is for you if:

  • You want to feel and explore difficult emotions in a safe space

  • You want to have healing conversations while feeling more connected to yourself and others

  • You want to learn how to build compassion for yourself

Group Meeting Dates (Fall 2019): 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/12, 11/19

Fees: $210 fee for the full Fall 2019 group. Payment plans available, first installment due one week before the first group meeting.

Young Adult Process Group

Wednesdays, 5:15pm-6:45pm

Facilitated by Claudine Lucena, MA, LMFT Associate, LPC Intern

Supervised by Brad Kennington, MA, LMFT-S, LPC-S

Do you feel anxious about finding direction or figuring out what you’re “supposed” to be doing? Do you struggle with navigating relationships, connecting with others, or maintaining friendships? Do you worry about meeting expectations that you have set for yourself or that others have set for you? If you sometimes feel stuck when navigating important decisions, worrying about making the “right choice,” you are not alone. When faced with pressures from family, culture, or society, it can be a struggle to find your voice at a time in your life when you are still defining yourself.

This time-limited, gender-inclusive process group is geared towards young adults struggling with perfectionism, stress, anxiety, balancing self-care and work, impostor syndrome, decision paralysis, and managing relationships with family or friends. Our group is for you if:

  • You want to learn more about yourself and how you relate to others

  • You want to explore your thoughts, feelings, and values in a safe space

  • You want to learn how to practice self-compassion and self-care
