Michael S. Bishop, Ph.D., LMFT-S, LPC-S, PA
Michael S. Bishop, Ph.D, LMFT, LPC, PA has practiced marriage and family therapy in the Austin area for over twenty-five years. Dr. Bishop works with school age children through senior adults while seeing couples, families and individuals. His multiple years of experience have provided him familiarity and skill at working with couples in transition, distress, conflict and infidelity. In addition, he works with couples and families when one of the partners or families members encounters depressive symptoms.
Dr. Bishop is an Adjunct Professor of Counseling at St. Edwards University, an Adjunct Professor of Counseling at The Seminary of the Southwest, Austin, Texas and is an Adjunct Clinical Affiliate with The University of Texas School of Nursing. He has been an Adjunct Clinical Instructor in Marriage and Family Therapy at University of Houston-Clear Lake and has been a Field Instructor in Psychology for the University of Rome, La Sapienza.
In addition to clinical services, Dr. Bishop consults with businesses and organizations to support their growth, discover creative solutions to organizational and leadership challenges, and empower leaders to improve communication and work output. Dr. Bishop was President of the Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (TAMFT) from 2006 - 2008 and received the Distinguished Service Award from TAMFT in 2006. He is a Clinical Fellow with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
