Supervised by Lauren Masciarelli, MA, LPC-S, LMFT-S
Andy Fernandez has a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from St. Edward’s University, with a dual concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Counseling. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas, where he studied history and took classes on film. Throughout all of his studies, Andy has focused on storytelling and the power that stories can have on our lives.
Andy believes that each person has a unique story to tell and works collaboratively with individuals, couples, and families to better understand themselves and find the best path forward. The first step on this path is in the fostering of a welcoming and inclusive environment for his clients, which begins by being curious and allowing them to speak their voice.
Andy has experience working with issues around depression, anxiety, life transitions, illness, grief, loss, substance use, trauma, and relationship stress. Outside of counseling, Andy has worked in higher education, providing support for students from many different backgrounds.
